Oil change service at Sylvan Lake AUTOPRO

We're in the Business of Making Vehicles Last

Let's be honest — when's the last time you got your oil changed before the sticker said you should?

We're all busy. Life gets in the way. That next oil change creeps up, and suddenly you're 1,000 km past due.

That's exactly why we use Castrol GTX Magnatec full synthetic oil and NAPA Gold filters. They're not the cheapest option — but they're designed to protect your engine even when life doesn't go according to schedule.

Why We Use Quality Oil & Filters

The difference in cost is a few dollars per oil change. The difference in engine life is measured in years.

Every Oil Change

We Give Your Vehicle a Good Look

While your oil drains, we do a courtesy inspection — a quick visual check of the basics. We look at fluid levels, tire condition, belts, hoses, lights, and wipers. It's not a comprehensive bumper-to-bumper inspection, but it helps us catch obvious issues before they leave you stranded.

If we spot something that needs a closer look, we'll let you know. No pressure, no upsell — just a heads-up so you can make an informed decision.

You'll receive a digital report with photos sent directly to your phone.

Green — Good condition, no action needed
Yellow — Worth watching, may need attention soon
Red — Needs attention now for safety or to prevent damage

It's your vehicle. You should know what's happening with it.

Why Quality Oil Matters

For those who want to understand why we choose the products we do

Cold Starts Cause Most Engine Wear

Up to 75% of engine wear happens in the first 20 minutes after you start your car. When your engine sits overnight, conventional oil drains back to the pan. Castrol GTX Magnatec's molecules cling to engine surfaces, so protection is already in place when you turn the key.

Modern Engines Are More Demanding

Turbochargers spin at 200,000 RPM at 400°C. Direct injection creates conditions for destructive pre-ignition. Tighter tolerances demand better filtration. Stop-start systems mean more start cycles. Quality oil and filters aren't optional anymore — they're required.

The Real Math

A premium oil change costs maybe $20-30 more than the budget option. Over 100,000 km, that's roughly $150-200 total difference. One turbocharger replacement costs $1,500-$4,000. One timing chain repair costs $1,500-$3,500. One repair wipes out the "savings" from 50+ budget oil changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about oil changes

How often should I change my oil?

Most vehicles using full synthetic oil can go 8,000-12,000 km between changes, but it depends on your driving habits. Check your owner's manual, or ask us — we'll give you an honest recommendation based on how you drive.

Do you use synthetic oil?

Yes. We use Castrol GTX Magnatec full synthetic on all oil changes unless your vehicle specifically requires something different (diesel, European spec, etc.). We stock multiple viscosities and specifications.

What if I'm past my oil change interval?

Don't panic. Quality synthetic oil is designed to provide protection even when you run a bit over. That said, don't make a habit of it — regular maintenance is still the best protection. Come see us and we'll get you back on track.

How long does an oil change take?

Plan for about an hour. We don't just dump and fill — we let the oil drain properly, swap the filter, do a courtesy inspection, and check your vehicle over. Care takes time, and we'd rather do it right than rush you out the door.

Can you service my vehicle while it's still under warranty?

Absolutely. We can perform all scheduled maintenance on new vehicles while maintaining your factory warranty. No need to go to the dealer.

This Is What an Oil Change Should Be

We're not just changing your oil. We're looking out for your vehicle.
