Driveline Services
Differentials. Transfer Cases. AWD Systems. CVT Transmissions.
Fluids Beyond Engine Oil
These services don't get talked about much. Most people don't think about differential fluid until something starts whining or grinding. By then, you're looking at bearing damage or gear wear that could have been prevented.
We service all of it. And we take the fluids seriously.
Full Synthetic. OEM When Required. No Shortcuts.
We use full synthetic gear oils for differential and transfer case services — better protection under load, better performance in cold weather, longer service life.
But here's the thing: some newer vehicles require OEM-specific fluids. Certain CVT transmissions, for example, have specifications that no aftermarket fluid meets. Using the wrong fluid can cause shudder, slipping, or premature wear.
We check the specs. If your vehicle requires OEM fluid, that's what goes in. No substitutes, no 'compatible' alternatives.
This is what taking fluids seriously looks like.
Driveline Services We Offer
Complete driveline maintenance for 4WD, AWD, and CVT vehicles
Front and rear differential fluid service. Full synthetic gear oil. Every 50,000-80,000 km.
Transfer case fluid service for 4x4 and AWD vehicles. Prevents costly failures. Every 50,000-80,000 km.
Complete AWD service including coupling units. Correct fluid for your specific system.
CVT fluid service using OEM or OEM-equivalent fluid. Critical for CVT longevity.
Differential Fluid Service — Front & Rear
Neglected differential fluid leads to worn bearings, damaged gears, and eventually a differential that needs to be rebuilt or replaced. A fluid service costs a fraction of that repair.
Interval
Every 50,000-80,000 km (more often if towing)
Signs You're Overdue
Whining/humming noise, clunking on accel/decel, dark burnt fluid
Transfer Case Service
Transfer cases are often overlooked because they're out of sight. But a failed transfer case is a $2,000–$4,000 repair. Fluid service is cheap insurance.
Interval
Every 50,000-80,000 km (more if off-road or towing)
Signs You're Overdue
Grinding when engaging 4WD, difficulty shifting modes, fluid leaks
All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Service
AWD systems work constantly, even when you don't notice them. The fluid wears out from heat and use, and when it does, you'll notice shudder during turns, delayed engagement, or that 'binding' feeling in parking lots.
Interval
Every 50,000-80,000 km depending on system
Important
AWD fluids are NOT interchangeable — we use the correct fluid for your system
AWD Systems We Service
We work on all major AWD platforms
Symmetrical AWD
SH-AWD and standard AWD
All AWD systems
AWD systems
All AWD systems
HTRAC and others
CVT Transmission Service
CVT fluid is specialized. It's not the same as regular automatic transmission fluid. Using the wrong fluid — or running too long on worn fluid — causes belt/chain slippage, shudder, and premature failure.
CVT replacements are expensive. $4,000–$7,000 is common. Fluid service is a fraction of that.
Nissan CVT
Every 40,000-60,000 km (sensitive to fluid condition)
Subaru CVT
Every 50,000-100,000 km depending on model
Honda CVT
Every 40,000-60,000 km
Signs Your CVT Needs Attention
Don't ignore these warning signs
Vibration during acceleration
Hesitation when shifting from Park
RPMs climb without matching acceleration
Changes with vehicle speed
Check engine or transmission light
Loss of power or fuel economy

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about driveline services
How often should I change my differential fluid?
Most differentials should have their fluid changed every 50,000-80,000 km. If you tow, haul heavy loads, or drive off-road frequently, consider shorter intervals around 40,000 km.
What's the difference between a differential and a transfer case?
Differentials split power between the two wheels on an axle, allowing them to turn at different speeds when cornering. A transfer case splits power between the front and rear axles in 4WD and AWD vehicles. Both have their own fluids that need servicing.
Can I use any gear oil in my differential?
No. Different differentials require different fluid specifications. Limited-slip differentials need friction modifier additives. Some newer vehicles require OEM-specific fluids. Using the wrong fluid can cause noise, premature wear, or damage. We always check specs and use the correct fluid.
What are signs my driveline needs service?
Common signs include whining or humming from the rear end, clunking when accelerating or decelerating, vibration at highway speeds, difficulty engaging 4WD, or fluid leaks under the vehicle. Any of these warrant an inspection.
