Inspections

Insurance Vehicle Inspections

Quick. Affordable. Done Right. — $95.99

Switching Insurance Providers?

Your new insurer may require a safety inspection before they'll issue a policy—especially for vehicles 12 years or older.

We verify your vehicle is safe and roadworthy, document everything, and provide the paperwork your insurance company needs.

$95.99 tax included. Most inspections completed same day.

When Is an Insurance Inspection Required?

Insurance companies (not the government) set these requirements

Vehicle Age (12+ Years)

Most insurers require inspection for vehicles 12 years or older. Some require it at 10 years.

Switching Providers

Moving to a new insurance company with an older vehicle? They'll likely require an inspection.

Buying Older Used Vehicle

Purchasing a vehicle 12+ years old? Your new insurer will probably want an inspection.

Lapse in Coverage

If your vehicle has been uninsured for an extended period, inspection may be required.

The Simple Rule

Same insurer, continuous coverage → Usually no inspection needed.

Switch insurers, older vehicle, or coverage lapse → Inspection likely required.

When in doubt, ask your insurance company what they need.

Pricing

Insurance Vehicle Inspection: $95.99 (tax included)

No hidden fees. No surprises.

You receive a digital report with photos and measurements—same transparency we provide on all our inspections.

What If My Vehicle Doesn't Pass?

If we find issues that prevent your vehicle from passing:

• Clear explanation of what failed and why
• Photos documenting the issues
• Estimate for repairs if you want them done here

You're not obligated to have repairs done with us—but if you do, we re-inspect at no additional charge once work is complete.

Many issues are minor: burnt-out bulb, worn wiper blades, low tire tread. We'll tell you what's critical and what's quick to fix.

Don't Wait Until the Deadline

Most insurers give you a window to submit inspection results after coverage begins—but timelines vary. Don't push it.

If your vehicle needs minor repairs to pass, you'll want time to address them. Book early, get it done, one less thing to worry about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about insurance inspections

How long does an insurance inspection take?

Most inspections take 30-45 minutes. Comfortable waiting room with Wi-Fi, coffee, and snacks if you're staying.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments recommended so we can get you in and out quickly. Call (403) 887-0440 or book online.

What documents do I need?

Just bring your vehicle. We handle the inspection and provide documentation for your insurer.

I just had an out-of-province inspection. Do I need this too?

Maybe not. If you recently completed an OOP inspection, that documentation may satisfy your insurer. Check with them first—you might not need a separate insurance inspection.

Can you do repairs the same day if needed?

Often, yes. Minor issues can usually be addressed immediately so you leave with a passing inspection. For larger repairs, we'll provide an estimate and schedule the work.

Why do I need this now when I never did before?

If you kept continuous insurance with the same provider, they likely never required it. Switching triggers the new insurer's underwriting requirements, which typically include inspections for older vehicles.
